Job Description for Crew Captains

Qualifications

• Varsity athlete, rising Junior or Senior
• Natural leader
• Demonstrated respect for the sport, equipment, fellow team members, coaches, and parent volunteers
• Motivated to excellence and able to motivate others

Responsibilities

• Work with coaches to ensure smooth, safe practices and competitions
• Organize removal and return of equipment at the beginning and end of practice
• Lead pre-practice workout (running and stretching)
• Represent athlete concerns to coaches, and coaches concerns to athletes
• Run winter training (with organizational support from coaches)
• Support fundraising activities (fall leaf raking, golf tournament, erg-a-thon, etc.) with organizational support from parents
• Promote team spirit (order t-shirts, organize food for spring break party, pre-race parties, etc.)
